Michigan's Skilled Nursing & Rehab Centers (SNRC), often commonly referred to as nursing homes, deliver high-quality care and contribute to quality of life, while meeting both the rehabilitation and long-term care of their clients with chronic medical problems. Compared to 10 years ago, more home- and community-based services are available today. These include assisted living centers, home for the aged centers, and adult foster care homes.
Nursing homes and SNRCs meet the growing need for sub-acute and rehab services, which are shifting away from hospital settings. Today approximately 60 percent of all SNRC new admissions will be discharged home or to a lower level of care within 90 days.
